So much going on right now, and so close to starting on new board game adventures. I have a new logo, some fancy new lights and a mic, a nifty new gimbal, and a headache from watching way too many how-to videos on YouTube.
So why am I still waiting? Well, that’s a pretty good question. Partly because I want to do things right (that’s the really good reason I keep using…) and partly because despite the amazing community/family that I have found in the board gaming community, I am, by nature, an introvert. So I wonder all the time – if I do a Top Ten will it be “right?” If I review a game does anyone actually need my opinion in a sea of voices? What do I bring to the table (yeah yeah pun intended) that someone else doesn’t already? And on a shallower note, can I make an interesting video that makes people happy?
These are the things I’m worried about. I am fairly sure that I’ve never posted a picture of me, just of games. So that’s where we’ll start. Tomorrow (because why not Scarlett O’Hara this thing) I am going to attempt to do the #helloboardgamer challenge on Insta. Let’s see how that goes. Then once the music is ready and I have a few videos completed, I will roll this thing out.
End goals? To create a welcoming table, a supportive board game community, and maybe get a game or two to review. I just want everyone to feel as happy as I do when I open a board game. Now I just have to keep from getting in my own way. Oh, and I should learn how to edit.
